I am in Sacramento, California I arrived early yesterday afternoon. I arrived in the Sacramento area around 2 or 3 PM and was firmly in the city proper around 4 PM. I did not inform my bosses; I am still finding my way around this place. Hit the ground running? That's me! I have no intention of killing the momentum gained from South Dakota and I certainly won't let it be taken by a three or four day drive across this wonderful nation. It will take approximately two days (less time than that actually) to get the lay of the land here and figure out everything but once I do... only unfamiliarity with the local politics and the geography can slow me down and nothing can stop me. Except getting fired. Maybe I'll pay the expenses through PayPal donations... I'm not getting fired. I get the impression that my mother suddenly make look at this. She notes the time stamps for posts (so she has an idea when or if I sleep), knows what "blogs" are, and quite possibly I know for certain now that I can't post swears or controversial pictures. Anyway, for right now you should all keep yourself busy examining the construction of the USS Ronald Reagan. I hereby petition for membership in the Bear Flag League. Tuesday, September 26, 2006

there is a poison in this country where people, the law enforcers, the police refuse to pursue criminals out of fear of being labelled racist. Should we not banish or shout over the fools and cretins whom insist that acts of protection for the weak and the innocent are acts of oppression simply for the color of human flesh? Only idiots, or the willing fools believe that race is the same as geographic fact or the status of "citizen". What makes a nation has nothing to do with skin. What makes one a native has everything to do with where one lives. Friday, September 22, 2006
Magnificent I think the next time you ever read that word, alone, as the title to a blog post here, it will be the last post on Apologies Demanded. I wonder what it will be about. What is magnificent? Thursday, September 21, 2006
Conservative Film Society The Conservative Film Society, as it grows, will ideally have a chapter at every major University in the country. Needless to say, with that sort of broad measurement marker passed there will be a chapter in every state. The very first chapter was established at South Dakota State University, in Brookings, South Dakota. It has started with four original members and exists with the support of the Leadership Institute. the last word in the dictionary: Zyxt is listed as the last word in the online Oxford English Dictionary, an obsolete Kentish word that is the second singular indicative present form of the verb see.Yet zyzzogeton at least according to Merriam-Webster Onlinebut "Several online dictionaries list the word zyzzyva, a tropical American weevil, as the last word in the letter Z."So there. a lightbulb joke for Catholics During a Eucharistic Congress, a number of priests from different orders are gathered in a church for Vespers. While they are praying, a fuse blows and all the lights go out. The Benedictines continue praying from memory, without missing a beat. The Jesuits begin to discuss whether the blown fuse means they are dispensed from the obligation to pray Vespers. The Franciscans compose a song of praise for God's gift of darkness. The Dominicans revisit their ongoing debate on light as a signification of the transmission of divine knowledge. The Carmelites fall into silence and slow, steady breathing. The parish priest, who is hosting the others, goes to the basement and replaces the fuse. from one of Jonah Goldberg's readers understand this about classical liberalism It has little in common with the modern political Left and it's great fortune, clever stratgey, and quick wits that result in the modern factions and politicos behind and alongside the Democratic Party managing to shanghai the word just so Jimmy Carter, John Kerry, Bill Clinton, Dick Durbin, Al Franken,Bill Mahar, and Rosie O'Donnell can claim to have something so similar in intellectual tradition and grand historical context wit John Locke. Compare Rosie O'Donnell to John Locke. Try it. If you are a serious leftist than your intellectual honesty abandoned you long ago. Therefore you see that John Kerry is in the tradition of John Locke. I know better. I studied John Locke. I studied John Kerry. The Conservatives, on the hand, have a different approach. Whatever the histories, I am not in the tradition of John Locke and I don't care. I am here to build a new tradition, to present you with the new life and the new way. I shall bring wonders to this world. Tuesday, September 19, 2006
March for Life trip, newsletter, genocide awareness project Hi Pro-Lifers, It was great to see many of you at the rally and fall meeting this past weekend. Nice work MSU SFL on a great event! The following are some important updates. We are organizing a trip to D.C. for the March for Life, we are starting a newsletter, and your group has the opportunity to bring the Genocide Awareness Project to Campus. The details are below, read on. As always, please contact me with questions or concerns or if you know someone who is interested in getting a pro-life group started on their campus. For-Life, Joanie MARCH FOR LIFE TRIP Students for Life of Michigan is organizing a bus trip to D.C. for the annual March for Life this coming January. We will leave Michigan on Friday, January 19th in the evening. We will arrive in D.C. on Saturday morning. On Saturday, we will attend the Students for Life of America Conference. Sunday will be our opportunity for sight-seeing and Monday will be the March. We will leave D.C. on Monday evening and arrive back in Michigan on Tuesday morning. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING: you will need to turn in a $50.00 non-refundable deposit to Students for Life of Michigan no later than October 16th. The mailing address for SFLM is: Students for Life of Michigan P.O. Box 6933 East Lansing, Mi 48826 The total cost will be $200.00 per student, this fee will cover the bus and hotel. Checks may be made payable to Students for Life of Michigan. Food, conference fee and any miscellaneous expenses are the responsibility of the student. Groups may want to fundraise to lower this cost and SFLM will also work on fundraising to lower the cost, $200.00 is the maximum, hopefully it will be less. NEWSLETTER SFLM is starting an e-newsletter! We want to spread the word about what pro-life students are doing in Michigan. Please send stories of your events or notices of events you are planning to Jenny Danne at jennifer.m.danne@ GENOCIDE AWARENESS PROJECT The Genocide Awareness Project is coming to Michigan, if you want it at your campus, let me know! GAP is a display that consists of large poster-size images of aborted babies. These images are extremely graphic and many will find them offensive (rightfully so). However, the display is also very effective, it puts the truth about abortion on display and forces pro-aborts to confront the gruesome procedure they promote. Minds and hearts will be changed, you may even save a life. Joanie Barrett SFLM President SFLMichigan@ www.SFLMichigan. IMAP versus POP I really cannot summarize myself. I wish I could. A simple, basic comparison is performed by the University of Washington Computing & Communications department. I don't think there is a simple way to explain it to me that satisfies me... I want to know that all of my usual settings or preferences are tenable. The IMAP Connection has a short note and then a longer, elaborative essay on the topic. Wednesday, September 06, 2006
YAF protest today I won't be doing these Michigan, Michigan State University, Young Americans for Freedom back in my home state announcements for some time. Not again. This is the last. For now. Later. Hey YAFers, We will be meeting at South Kedzie Hall at 5:45pm Thursday, September 7. We have signs made, Craig is buying us a megaphone, Jon is getting us MCRI shirts, we chalked all over the sidewalk, and things should go very well. We will be supporting the MCRI and the student newspaper will be there. We need all the support we can get. Please be there. After we meet at South Kedzie Hall, we are going to protest across the street from the Rock. South Kedzie Hall -Kyle Bristow YAF Chairman Crop Circles Are Not Made By Aliens All first assumptions that they are should be filed with the claims that Santa Claus goes from house to house of all believing, well-behaving children on earth (without the use and manifestations of events occurring within the realms of quantum mechanics). Crop circles are made by men. I cannot discount the existence of extraterrestrial space aliens but I certainly won't nod stupidly at the assertion of inter-planetary origins for wierd phenomena. Matt Ridley's confession in Scientific American should illustrate the possibilities for crop circles. we get it already That Senator Kerry feels the need to "remind the Senate" that Baathist Iraq did not play a role in the launch of the Sept 11 attacks disgusts me. He claims to feel that need. As if all the Senate is so illiterate and stupid. John Kerry Speaks Re-Runs I watch C-SPAN2. He repeats the fallacy that "the whole world was behind" my country "after September 11th" and that we "squandered that" good will. He repeats the failed and bad idea that we "'outsourced'" the Tora Bora engagement in Afghanistan five years ago and that is the reason we did not kill Osama bin Laden at the time. As if his fantasy strategy of using American forces alone to surround Tora Bora was feasible or geographically possible. It's not. He repeats the ancient premise that most people believe that the 9/11 terrorist attacks have a basis or origin in Iraq, which of course it doesn't, but he re-affirms that it didn't and doesn't as if we act as if it were. He repeats the meme that there are more terrorists now than during 2001/9/11, in Iraq, implicitly because of strategies in the war on terror. I can't even keep track of the repetitions, many of which are just Senator Kerry reciting old lines from his failed bid for the American Presidency back in 2004. By the by, this session is supposedly on the topic of Don Rumsfeld not being Secretary of Defense, but the Junior Senator from Massachussets now takes this as an opportunity to take shots at the POTUS. Ah. Now he claims that he "learned in the military" about "accountability". What a laugh. I have yet to hear of any accountability for his actions in the Winter Soldier hoax in the seventies or any of his role in the villainification or villainisation of American soldiers, veterans of the Vietnam war, in the seventies. predictable and apropriate Good Friends Are Hard To Find - video powered by Metacafe I have no sympathy for fictional characters, especially those found in beer commercials.
